OFFICIALS OF BUSINESSDAY NEWSPAPER PAY COURTESY CALL ON VICE CHANCELLOR, SOLICIT FOR A WORKING PARTNERSHIP.

Determined to build a stronger partnership between their organization and the University, officials of Business Day Newspaper, this afternoon, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof Olanrewaju Fagbohun, in his office at the University Main Campus, Ojo.

The visit was to formally introduce the media house to the Vice Chancellor and explore partnership opportunities with the academic institution.

The leader of the delegation, Editor, BusinessDay Sunday, Mr Zebulon Agumuo, stated that the Newspaper is one of the most widely circulated print and the most read by people in the business community in the country. He remarked that for more than two years, the organization has been working closely with the University by distributing it’s newspapers at a subsidized cost of N50 only to members of the University Community as against it’s actual price of N300.

In his response, Prof Fagbohun thanked the team for the visit and informed it of LASU’s willingness to partner BusinessDay, not in the area of advert placements, but on robust intellectual engagements that

would benefit both bodies.

“I think we should be pushing ourselves beyond the regulars of adverts. Those are low hanging fruits that may not be of any lasting benefit to anyone. I want us to look at high-powered programmes, say seminars, conferences or short courses that people can come and be a part of. That way, you will also have contributed to the University”, the Professor of Environmental Law noted. He assured them that LASU has the resources, human and infrastructure, to make the idea a success: “We have the people. Give us a small team, and we can put our own team together and work on such a projects
